On Monday, the Denver Broncos made it official that the storied franchise would be moving on from veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, as they let him know that they intend on releasing him, which would make him a free agent during this NFL offseason.
With Wilson hitting the open market, there’s expected to be no shortage of interest, with plenty of teams potentially showing interest in the one-time Super Bowl champion even though he’s clearly past his prime.
One team that has been linked to Wilson more than any other at this point in time has been the Pittsburgh Steelers, with Art Rooney II and company getting tired of the same results every year.
Last season, the Steelers were awful offensively, with the team unable to get anything going with young quarterback Kenny Pickett leading the charge under center.
That said, the team could go the veteran route for the 2024 campaign, with John Middlekauff and Colin Cowherd talking about the possibility of Wilson landing in Pittsburgh, via The Volume.
“I heard a lot of Russell Wilson rumors to Pittsburgh,” Middlekauff said.

At this point in time, there’s no telling what will happen in the Wilson sweepstakes, as he could end up in Pittsburgh or he could sign with a team like the Las Vegas Raiders or Atlanta Falcons.
The Steelers are the most desperate team of the three mentioned, with the longtime owner wanting results and head coach Mike Tomlin likely having his job on the line moving forward.
