The Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers currently look like the best teams in the NFL.
They’ve easily gotten past their opposition, and while they’ve both lost three games, it feels like they could go toe-to-toe with pretty much every team in the league right now.
That’s why it’s no surprise to see Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy going head-to-head as the two likeliest MVP candidates, with the Cowboys star holding a small edge in most sportsbooks.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Craig Carton believes that Purdy should be the one leading the race, and he did make some interesting points about that.
In the latest edition of The Carton Show, Carton stated that both players and teams went against each other, adding that Purdy led an offense that put up 42 points while the other was only able to put up 10 points and threw three interceptions.
Brock Purdy or Dak Prescott for MVP?
“The starting quarterback of the best team, the #1 seed, and the division winner. The award clearly goes to Brock Purdy.” — @craigcartonlive pic.twitter.com/datURTxlww

Carton stated that the Niners will win their division and have the best record in the league.
So, after comparing their numbers and realizing that they are pretty much the same, Purdy should clearly be ahead of Prescott in the MVP race.
Truth be told, he has a valid point, as Purdy is the starting QB on the best team in the league, and his numbers have been fairly impressive, so why is Dak leading the race?
Both players will have four games to make a case for themselves, and it’ll be interesting to see how they deal with this kind of pressure.
