The New England Patriots have begun their search for the next GM of the franchise.
This has been a must ever since the team parted ways with legendary head coach and former GM Bill Belichick.
With plenty of possible candidates coming from the outside, the favorite for the role is believed to be in-house.
According to NBC Sports Boston’s Phil A. Perry, Director of Scouting Eliot Wolf is the top target to become the new GM.
“The expectation…is that Eliot Wolf will get the job…I would be stunned if he doesn’t get the job. He is the overwhelming favorite,” Perry said on Monday evening.

If you’ve heard of the last name Wolf in NFL circles before, it is because of Eliot Wolf’s father, Ron Wolf.
Ron Wolf made his mark in the NFL as an executive for nearly four decades.
He most notably took on the role of GM in Green Bay for a decade in the 1990s, which led to him guiding the Packers back to contention.
He traded for legendary quarterback Brett Favre, and he also signed arguably the best pass-rusher of all time in Reggie White, which changed free agency in the NFL forever.
The Packers would go on to win their first Super Bowl in nearly 30 years in 1996.
Now, his son will look to make another great impact on the NFL.
Eliot Wolf has been an executive for the last two decades, and he spent 13 of them with his father’s Packers.
Now, he is in prime position to guide another great franchise back to Super Bowl contention in the very near future.
