The New York Giants are in a tough spot right now.
Their defense is one of the best in the game, and HC Brian Daboll has proven to have what it takes to lead a team.
Their offense, however, is a whole different story.
The offense wasn’t as proficient with Daniel Jones on the field.
Their skill players haven’t done much to help their cause, and they desperately need Saquon Barkley out there breaking tackles to stand a chance to move the chains.
That’s why NFL analyst Craig Carton believes the Giants ought to do what’s best for them and just place him under the franchise tag again.
“Franchise Saquon. Saquon Barkley, specifically for the New York Giants, is worth $12M,” Carton said.

Carton admitted that it might not be fair to Barkley because of everything he’s done for them, but he’s definitely worth the $12 million, and they cannot afford to lose him right now.
Barkley has been their best offensive player since he entered the league, but his constant injuries have derailed his promising career, taking a massive toll on his market value as well.
Carton talked about Barkley’s outspoken desire to be a Giants player for life, and while he’s obviously hurt by the way they’ve treated him lately, he’s never wavered about that.
Even so, the team looks kind of ready to move on from him, and it’ll be interesting to see if another franchise is willing to offer him the kind of deal he wants and deserves.
