The Texas Rangers eliminated some elite teams to reach the MLB World Series and win it for the first time in franchise history.
They defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, a team that won just 84 games during the regular season but got hot at the right time.
Reaching the Fall Classic requires a good, deep roster, but also timely hitting, a strong bullpen, and a bit of luck.
It’s a combination of factors that is increasingly hard to collect or show.
We have seen the best and most dominant regular season teams fail in October in recent seasons, but that’s not always the case.
That’s why analyst Ben Verlander believes the Philadelphia Phillies and the Baltimore Orioles will make the World Series next year.
“It’s never too early for a 2024 World Series prediction. @BenVerlander has the Phillies beating the Orioles in next year’s Fall Classic. Who do you think will be in the World Series next season?” MLB on FOX tweeted.

The Phillies have been one of the best and most consistent teams in baseball since last year, particularly in 2023.
The Orioles, on the other hand, were the best team in the American League this year with 101 wins.
Both teams are in need of at least one ace, but are otherwise rock-solid and have a winning foundation.
The Phillies have some expensive but productive veterans, and the O’s have some of the brightest young stars in the game.
If they manage to bring in a top-tier starter each, the likelihood of reaching the 2024 World Series will increase.
