During his rookie season with the San Francisco 49ers, many believed that quarterback Brock Purdy had a fluke performance, as he was able to lead the storied NFL franchise to the NFC Championship Game to take on Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Unfortunately for Purdy, he was unable to prove his doubters wrong in that game, as he suffered an injury that would knock him out of the game and require offseason surgery to fix.
Fortunately for Purdy, he made a full recovery from the surgery and was able to start the season as the starter for the 49ers, which led to more success for Iowa State product, as he quickly got the 49ers back on track as one of the best teams in the league.
Despite more success for the 49ers, Purdy still had his doubters leading all the way up to another appearance in the NFC Championship Game to take on the upstart Detroit Lions.
In spectacular fashion, Purdy quieted his critics with a stellar performance in the win over the Lions, as he led the 49ers to a comeback victory in the second half to advance to the Super Bowl.
After a big-time showing against the Lions, Emmanuel Acho of FOX Sports is even more convinced that Purdy is the real deal, via “Speak” on FS1.
“Brock Purdy is exactly who I thought he was,” Acho said. “A winner.”

Even though Purdy put on a show in the NFC Championship Game at Levi’s Stadium, he’ll have his work cut out for him in the Super Bowl, taking on the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
The Chiefs have proven to be a resilient as ever this season making it back to the big game and won’t be going down without a fight, which means Purdy will get tested yet again.
