Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. is considered to be one of the top stars in MLB.
How can he not be, after the year he just had?
Acuna made history by becoming the only member of the 40-70 club, hitting 41 home runs and stealing 73 bases.
Before 2023, no one was even in the 40-50 club.
Then this guy comes in and hits 41 long balls and steals 73 bases like it’s nothing.
It is truly one of the greatest individual seasons our generation will witness.
MLB Network’s Ryan Spilborghs used a few words to describe Acuna.
Specifically, he called him a “freak” in the best way possible.
There’s a reason that Ronald Acuña Jr. was the lone unanimous #1 in the #MLBNRTopTen.#Braves | @Braves pic.twitter.com/hOY9OI8ok4

“Last year was a career year for him,” Spilborghs said, but not because he can’t be excellent again, but because he set the bar so high it will be very tough to clear it again.
He talked about how unlikely it is for Acuna to repeat that performance.
Acuna hit .337/.416/.596 with the 41 homers, 35 doubles, 149 runs, a 1.012 OPS, the 73 thefts, and 217 hits.
He was a top speedster and base-stealer, a premier power hitter, and a contact master, all in one player.
Of course he had to win the MVP award in the National League after that performance.
He is truly a freak.
