The 2024 NFL Draft is shaping up to be one of the best and deepest in recent memory as there are several position groups that are rich in talent.
While most of the attention has been on the quarterbacks, the wide receivers shouldn’t be overlooked as there are numerous prospects worth looking out for.
Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. is widely expected to be the first receiver taken off the board, with LSU’s Malik Nabers and Washington’s Rome Odunze right behind him.
While those three are the consensus best wideouts, there are several other players worth monitoring early on in the draft.
One player who hasn’t been getting as much buzz is Oregon’s Troy Franklin, who has excellent speed and route-running skills to get himself open to break off chunk plays.
Analysts like Trevor Sikkema believe that Franklin shouldn’t be overlooked in this year’s draft, via PFF College.
“Franklin might get lost in the shuffle of a loaded wide receiver class, but he shouldn’t,” Sikkema said.

Franklin may have a slight frame, but his size and catch radius make it easy to envision what he’ll look like at the professional level.
There are several teams who could use Franklin’s ability to pick up yards after the catch and he projects to be at least a quality No. 2 in the passing game.
Right now, Franklin could go as early as late in the first round though he will most likely go on Day 2 in the second round.
Franklin’s got some attractive traits as a wideout prospect and it’ll be fun to see where he eventually lands.
