The San Francisco 49ers entered the regular season with a few questions associated with their offense.
Many fans and analysts wondered what the team would look like, especially with Brock Purdy coming off of elbow surgery.
It was unknown how his arm would hold up throughout a grueling season, but judging by the fact that he brought the 49ers to the Super Bowl, it has held up quite well.
Purdy has outperformed expectations, and while he isn’t expected to win, he was at the forefront of the MVP conversation for most of the year.
Andy Reid was asked about Purdy in a press conference ahead of the big game, as reporters wondered what he thought of the young quarterback.
He said, “All of those major categories that you kind of check off for quarterbacks, he’s got all of that.”

Reid believes that Purdy has what it takes to be a great quarterback in the league, and with that, doesn’t understand the disrespect associated with him.
Purdy was drafted in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft, dubbed “Mr. Irrelevant” for his draft position.
He has certainly been relevant and is now one win away from bringing the 49ers a Super Bowl.
Regardless of the team’s outcome, Purdy has cemented his place as a starter in the NFL, and unless the team makes a big change, he’ll be their starter for the foreseeable future.
Having the endorsement of a legendary coach like Reid doesn’t hurt, either.
