The 8-4 Kansas City Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills this Sunday, and although the Bills have a 6-6 record and have been struggling all year, one shouldn’t assume this will be an automatic win for Patrick Mahomes and company.
The Chiefs have failed to find a consistent threat at wide receiver all season, and it has arguably resulted in a couple of their one-possession losses this year.
On Sunday, they will be without one of their few offensive threats other than star tight end Travis Kelce, as running back Isiah Pacheco will not play due to a shoulder injury.
Per Adam Schefter, head coach Andy Reid will start Clyde Edwards-Helaire at running back.

In 12 games this year, Pacheco has run for 779 yards and six touchdowns while adding 33 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown in the air.
He had a strong rookie year last season with 830 rushing yards and five touchdowns, and he tallied 76 yards and a touchdown in Kansas City’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
Edwards-Helaire may only have 140 rushing yards so far in 2023, but he is a serviceable tailback in his own right.
As a rookie in 2020, he ran for 803 yards and four touchdowns while also contributing 297 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown.
Kansas City is currently in a tight race for AFC playoff seeding — the Jacksonville Jaguars are also 8-4 while the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens have the best record in the conference at 9-3.
Their schedule will get easier after Sunday, as their remaining games will be against the New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals, and Los Angeles Chargers.
