Winds of change appear to be blowing for the Los Angeles Angels.
Now without Shohei Ohtani, making the playoffs will be extremely hard unless the team starts spending or making savvy trades.
They couldn’t advance to October with Ohtani, so the landscape looks ugly without him.
Still, Angels fans would like to know more about the future of the team from authorized voices.
A couple of days ago, general manager Perry Minasian had a chat with the media.
He, according to Sam Blum, said “they wanted to keep adding. However, he declined to say if payroll could be increased, or if they’re able to spend on expensive FAs. He did say that he believes the addition of Ron Washington makes FAs want to play for LAA.”
Blum received some interesting replies to that tweet.
A fan expressed his disappointment because the team is not clear about the future, and Blum agreed.
“I agree. Fans deserve more answers. Don’t have to promise free agents, but some clarity on direction/ability to spend is a fair ask,” he tweeted.

Fans are the ones investing their time and money into the team.
They are the ones buying the tickets, food, and merchandise.
They are the ones obtaining the season tickets and before they make that kind of commitment, they deserve to know whether the team is going to make a few impact purchases in the free-agent market or if they are going to enter a rebuild phase.
In professional sports, the word “rebuild” is often heavily criticized, understandably so.
There are ways to communicate, though, and the Angels aren’t doing that.
Their fans deserve to know more.
