The Indianapolis Colts currently have one of the most exciting quarterback prospects in the game.
Anthony Richardson was electrifying in limited action during his rookie campaign, putting doubts about his NFL readiness aside and proving to be a privileged athlete who could make an impact right away.
Nonetheless, the fact that he suffered two injuries in just four games, one of which ended his season, raised concerns about his durability.
Even so, the former Florida Gator doesn’t see things that way.
Recently, he claimed that there wasn’t anything he could’ve done to avoid the shoulder injury he suffered.
He believes it was just a routine tackle, and while he tried to brace himself for the fall, he got hurt; it happens (via JA Bregman and Dov Kleiman).
Colts QB Anthony Richardson shrugs off concerns over his durability and says there’s nothing ‘wrong’ with his play style:
“I don’t think there’s any way I could have avoided what happened to me.”

Sometimes, it’s as simple as that.
Football is a physical sport; injuries are a part of it, and they’re impossible to avoid at times.
Then again, it’s also a fact that Richardson’s physical, aggressive, and dynamic style of play can lead to injuries.
We saw that happen with guys like Lamar Jackson or Robert Griffin III.
His ability to scramble is one of the things that makes him a special kind of talent, so it only makes sense that he doesn’t want to go away from what got him to the league.
Even so, he must learn how to avoid contact and keep his body out of harm’s way, as being available is also a big part of the job, and missing time won’t exactly help with his player development.
