The Las Vegas Raiders have been quite unfair to Josh Jacobs.
Jacobs spent the months leading to free agency talking about how eager he was to be a part of the team for life.
He’s been one of the best and most underrated running backs in the game for the past three years or so, and he had earned every single penny of a new lucrative contract.
The team didn’t do right by him, and he had to end up settling for a one-year deal worth $12 million.
He hasn’t been featured much in the first half of the season, and he has looked quite frustrated with Mick Lombardi’s offense.
However, things could change now that Antonio Pierce is taking the reins of the team as interim head coach, as he had nothing but words of praise for the talented running back (via Anthony Galaviz).
Antonio Pierce on Josh Jacobs: “He’s a heartbeat. He’s a workhorse. He’s a Raider. He’s gonna be a Raider. When Josh Jacobs is running, the Raiders are winning. When Josh Jacobs touched the ball, odds are for the Raiders. He understands that.” #Raiders

Through eight games, Jacobs only has 133 rushes for 408 yards and three scores.
The Raiders are sitting on a 3-5 record and, even though they still have the second half of the season to turn things around, making the playoffs seems like a bit of a long shot in the stacked AFC.
Even so, if they want to have any sort of chance to pull it off, they desperately need to put the ball in Jacobs’ hands as early and often as possible.
He’s a prime insurance policy for rookie QB Aidan O’Connell, and it’s about time the Raiders make the most of the elite weapon they have on their hands.
