At one point in the 2023 NFL Season, things seemed to be over for the Las Vegas Raiders.
The energy surrounding the team was low, and the team’s on-field performances reflected that.
However, things seemed to change almost overnight when the team fired Josh McDaniels, promptly promoting Antonio Pierce as the interim head coach.
Pierce inspired his team, who won their first two games with him as their head coach.
While they have struggled a bit since then, including scoring zero points a week ago, the Raiders stormed right back.
They scored 63 points on the Los Angeles Chargers in primetime, an impressive accomplishment for any team.
After the game, Pierce commented on his team’s bounceback, saying, “We were on the wrong side of history.”
As he continued via Pro Football Talk, “Well, we’re on the right side now, and that’s the way we want to be.”

Winning can heal a lot of wounds, which is seemingly what has happened for the Raiders.
While this win over the Chargers didn’t vault them into the playoffs, it was another moral victory for a team that once had incredibly poor spirits.
Pierce’s turnaround of the Raiders has been remarkable.
His hat might stay in the ring as they look for a permanent head coach, especially if the team continues to rally around him.
The Raiders have been viewed as a glowing team with unlocked potential for the past few years.
If Pierce can unlock that in 2024 and beyond, the Raiders might be in line to make some noise within the AFC West.
