Wide receivers in the NFL generally do not set the world on fire as rookies, though some stand out in their first seasons.
Most of the top-flight targets show marked improvement after that initial campaign, and there are high hopes in Las Vegas that Tre Tucker will be one of those prodigies who shines with experience and coaching.
New Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce heaped praise on Tucker, declaring that he “had a hell of an offseason…was here every day,” per Jesse Merrick.
Pierce described Tucker as standing out among his wide receiving corps and taking everything coaches told him to focus on “to another level.”

Tucker played in 16 games with one start in his first year out of Cincinnati.
The rookie grabbed 19 receptions for a healthy 17.4 yards per catch average and a pair of scores, giving the coaching staff a sneak preview of the talent he brought to the NFL.
Depending on quarterback play under Pierce, who led the team to a marked improvement after taking over the top spot on an interim basis last season, Tucker may have ample opportunity to shine with the Silver and Black.
He presents the vertical threat that the team historically has showcased, and he could develop into a more than solid second option to star Davante Adams.
This bunch under Pierce looks to have as much talent or more than the Raiders have fielded in several seasons.
The team clearly bought into his program, and it was a no-brainer to award him the head coaching slot permanently soon after the season ended.
