After nine seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, Arik Armstead found a new home this offseason.
Armstead signed a three-year, $51 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars last week to play his 10th season with the AFC South squad.
Armstead suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee in a Dec 3rd game against the Philadephia Eagles.
He spent the next five weeks on the injured reserve list before returning for the NFL playoffs.
His recovery is on track, according to the veteran lineman.
“I’ll be back very soon, I’m excited about that,” Armstead told local media outlets on Monday.

Armstead explained that the surgery was successful, and the star defensive lineman planned to be ready for the start of the 2024 NFL season.
The veteran lineman should be healthy enough to participate in Jacksonville’s training camp.
“I’m on a very good road to recovery, so I plan on being back to football full-time very soon when my team needs me,” Armstead added.
Armstead was released from the 49ers’ organization after San Francisco asked Armstead to take a pay cut during the offseason, a move Armstead refused to make.
Armstead was selected by San Francisco in the first round of the 2015 draft.
Armstead recorded 302 tackles in his nine-year career, adding 33.5 sacks and three forced fumbles while playing in 116 games.
