Oakland Athletics fans have been suffering for months, even years.
Not only has owner John Fisher refused to field a competitive roster since the end of the 2021 season, but he is determined to move the team to Las Vegas.
Generations of Athletics fans in Oakland are going to have to see their owner taking the team away from them to move it to another city.
The process is not finalized nor official, but this week could represent a major step towards relocation.
The owner meetings will take place this week in Arlington, Texas, starting on Tuesday.
One of the most important items on the agenda is the vote for the A’s relocation plan.
If 23 owners vote “yes”, then Fisher would have taken a huge step towards his dream Vegas move.
Fans still have some faith and hope, though, and are resorting to last resort methods and tactics.
“A’s fans are sending ‘Stay In Oakland’ boxes to MLB team owners — hoping to convince them to vote against relocation to Las Vegas,” Front Office Sports tweeted.

In the picture, there is a box for Los Angeles Angels owner Arte Moreno containing several items, pictures, and stuff with the motto “Stay in Oakland” and the A’s colors.
The expectation is that most owners will vote to approve relocation, but even in that case, the process (and the fight by thousands of A’s fans) still wouldn’t be over.
Fisher, even if he wins the vote this week, can’t say he has won the race just yet.
