Baseball is more than just some guys throwing, fielding, and hitting balls.
MLB in particular carries the hopes and dreams of hundreds of players: everyone has a different background and story.
Ronel Blanco’s story definitely had its best chapter on Monday night, when he threw the 17th no-hitter in Houston Astros history.
Only two walks to George Springer prevented perfection, but Blanco was able to no-hit a quality Toronto Blue Jays offense as the Astros dominated and earned their first win of the year.
The Astros posted a compilation of Blanco’s best moments of the night, and fans didn’t hesitate to like, retweet, and share.

Maybe you haven’t heard much about Blanco, but he is not a hotshot prospect in his early twenties.
Blanco is a 30-year-old Dominican pitcher who got his first real shot to be a major leaguer in 2022.
He posted a 7.11 ERA in 6.1 innings in the bigs that year.
Last season, he was used as a swingman, starting seven games and relieving in 10 more.
He completed 52 innings, and posted a 4.50 ERA with 52 strikeouts.
Normally, the Astros’ pitching depth gives them enough quality options to put in the rotation.
However, with Justin Verlander, Lance McCullers Jr., and Luis Garcia out with injuries, Blanco was forced into action.
He didn’t disappoint, though.
Over the nine frames he stayed on the mound, he conceded just a pair of walks and struck out seven.
As it happens in every no-hitter, his defense bailed him out a couple of times.
Still, it was a thoroughly impressive performance that Astros fans surely won’t forget.
