The Oakland Athletics took a huge step towards their relocation to Las Vegas on Thursday.
The rest of the owners approved their idea of moving to Las Vegas in a unanimous vote during the owner meetings.
There were, and still are, many steps for A’s owner John Fisher to complete before saying the move is official, or complete.
This one, however, was one of the most important.
If 75 percent of the owners weren’t on board with the plan, the move was off.
Fisher got his way, though, so the project is still on much to the dismay of true A’s fans.
Fisher, however, usually finds a way to enrage A’s supporters with the things he says in addition to the things he does.
In the wake of the owners’ decision on Thursday, he left a quote that people won’t forget.

“Today is an incredibly difficult day for Oakland A’s fans. It’s a great day for Las Vegas”, he said, per MLB on FOX.
Needless to say, the quote wasn’t popular among MLB fans across the country, not only those in Oakland.
They have been fighting to keep the team in Oakland for the long-term.
They even showed the world that, when they are given a reason to go to the stadium (during June’s ‘reverse boycott’ that saw the Oakland Coliseum host more than 27,000 people), they will do just that.
Perhaps if Fisher had put together more competitive teams instead of rebuilding for so many years, attendance numbers would have been closer to his expectations.
