Two years ago, the New York Jets added two foundational pieces to their roster with Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner.
Last season, the Houston Texans did the same thing, adding C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr.
Both times, those teams wound up running away with Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
Now, the Chicago Bears are trying to take a page out of their books, albeit both of their first-rounders will play on the offensive side of the field.
Recently, GM Ryan Poles shared his excitement about getting to work with both Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze.
Talking on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Poles admitted that he wasn’t just high on them as football players but also because of their character.

He also admitted that he wanted to trade up to make sure that they could get Odunze, who was also reportedly on the New York Giants’ radar, so other people actually had to tell him to calm down and wait.
Odunze was the third wide receiver taken, which was far from a surprise, as Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers were on a tier of their own, but it’s not like he was that far behind.
The Bears will also have a potentially generational talent throwing him the football, and their offense should be among the most improved in the league next season.
It’s an exciting time to root for the Bears, and these two could have one of the best connections in the league for the next decade or so.
