The Chicago Bears seem to be back on track.
Justin Fields is back on the field, mostly healed from his injury, and ready to contribute in a big way.
This ended the tenure of Tyson Bagent’s time as their starter, who has now been relegated to the backup role.
With Fields coming back, this eliminated the need for the Bears to carry another quarterback on their roster.
In a corresponding move shared via writer Oliver Thomas, the Bears cut Trace McSorley from the practice squad.
The Bears released quarterback Trace McSorley, who spent the spring and summer with the Patriots, from the practice squad.

McSorley has only played in nine NFL games, spending time with the Baltimore Ravens, Arizona Cardinals, New England Patriots, and most recently, the Bears.
A player with McSorley’s career history isn’t typically a household name, but he has a different situation than most.
McSorley went viral a few years ago for a song and music video that hyped him up.
While his career hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype that was promised, he did have his time in the limelight.
Now that he has been released by the Bears, McSorley could sign with another suitor, assuming they are willing to take a risk on the young QB.
All that is known for now is that the Bears have moved on from him.
At least for the 2023 season, fans can be confident in the fact that the Bears want to see what Fields can do for the rest of the year.
His future is undetermined with this team, with a lot riding on how the remainder of the season pans out.
