The 2023 season was a lost season for the Cincinnati Bengals, as quarterback Joe Burrow was seemingly never fully healthy.
He strained his calf during training camp, which was likely a factor in him playing poorly to start the year, and just as he was getting his mojo back, he suffered a season-ending wrist injury in Week 11.
In an attempt to give Burrow better protection and prevent him from getting hurt again, the Bengals have signed offensive tackle Trent Brown to a one-year contract, per the NFL’s official Twitter account.
Brown will team up with Orlando Brown Jr., whom they brought in last season, to give the team two massive towers of power on its offensive line.

Both men named Brown stand 6-foot-8 and weigh well over 300 pounds, and they will serve as Burrow’s personal bodyguards on the gridiron.
Burrow does have a history of getting injured — as a rookie in 2020, he tore both his ACL and MCL while also sustaining injuries to his PCL and meniscus.
However, when he has been healthy, he has been considered by many to be one of the game’s top quarterbacks, and he led the Bengals to the Super Bowl during his sophomore season.
Trent Brown was named to the Pro Bowl in 2019 while with the then-Oakland Raiders, and since then, he himself has had some trouble staying healthy.
But despite losing running back Joe Mixon and rumors that they will trade No. 2 wide receiver Tee Higgins, Cincinnati is hoping to make another run at the world championship they have never won.
