The New England Patriots don’t know who’s going to be their starting quarterback for the remainder of the season, or at least they want to make it seem like that.
HC Bill Belichick has been tight-lipped about that situation since their tough loss in Germany, and he’s not budging.
According to Mike Reiss, the veteran coach refuses to talk about who’s going to be the starter vs. the New York Giants, repeatedly stating that he told everybody to be ready to play.
Bill Belichick not budging when asked about his starting QB, repeating what he said earlier in the week: Told everybody to be ready to go.

Bailey Zappe took over for Mac Jones in Frankfurt, but, unsurprisingly, he didn’t fare much better.
Mac Jones has regressed vastly this season, and while it’s unfair to put all the blame on him, he hasn’t done anything to make Belichick, the fans, or Robert Kraft think that he’s the guy they need there in the future.
There’s still a chance he turns out to be a solid quarterback, and some believe he would fare better in a different environment, but the reality is that he’s not likely to be on the Patriots’ roster next season, even if he finishes this season strong and as their starting quarterback.
The Patriots don’t consider Zappe a starter either, so their next QB might not even be on their roster right now.
They’ve only won two games and their wide receivers have combined to score a grand total of five touchdowns this season.
