The New England Patriots have plenty of issues to address ahead of their Week 12 clash with the Washington Commanders.
J.C. Jackson’s future with the team is just one of the many subjects people will bring up when talking to HC Bill Belichick, but it wasn’t the biggest one.
Obviously, everybody’s waiting to know whether Mac Jones will be on the field as their starting quarterback, but it seems like they’ll just have to wait a little longer before finding out.
When asked about the situation, Belichick gave the most Bill Belichick answer of all time, simply stating that he told everybody to be ready to play (via Adam Schefter).
Asked this morning who would be the Patriots’ starting QB on Sunday vs. the Giants, Bill Belichick said: “I’ve told everybody to be ready to go. … I’ve told every player to be ready to play.”

Belichick has always been tight-lipped about his plans, and chances are he just wants the Commanders to prepare for both quarterbacks.
Truth be told, it shouldn’t be so hard, as neither Jones nor Bailey Zappe should pose any sort of threat to any NFL defense at this point in their careers.
Belichick’s tactics and ways used to work, and he’s not going to change at this point.
Whatever the case, Belichick will most likely continue to get the benefit of the doubt for all the success he found with Tom Brady.
As for Jones, he’s not going to be on the team next season, even if he starts and throws for 700 yards and 10 scores in his next game.
