For the first time since 1999, the New England Patriots will take the field next season without Bill Belichick as their head coach.
The longtime relationship between the Patriots and Belichick came to an end earlier this year after the two parties agreed to go their separate ways following an abysmal 2023 season that saw the team finish with a 4-13 record.
The former New England head coach was surprisingly unable to land a new job in the NFL this offseason, so some have wondered how he will be spending his free time during the next year.
Well, according to The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand on Friday, Belichick will reportedly be writing a book to share some of his experiences throughout his career as both an assistant coach and a head coach on the NFL sidelines (via The Athletic on Twitter).
Bill Belichick is planning on writing a book, officials tell @AndrewMarchand.
Its nature is not yet fully known.
But in light of how he was represented in Apple TV’s recent documentary, his side of his legendary run would be of great interest.

Belichick definitely shouldn’t have a hard time figuring out what to write about in his book.
Despite helping the Patriots win more than a handful of Super Bowls, his tenure with the franchise was also filled with a bunch of controversial moments.
Belichick writing a book should allow him to give his side of the story on some of these controversial topics, however, he might just approach them how he approached anything mildly controversial during his career with New England and essentially just ignore it all.
Even if he doesn’t get into the details of some of the drama from his time with the Patriots, he should still have plenty to share about what it took to create one of the most successful franchises in the history of the NFL.
