On Monday, the Atlanta Braves were able to tie their National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies in dramatic fashion, with a 5-4 victory at Truist Park in Atlanta.
The Phillies looked like they had things under control for a long while, though: they were up 4-0 after the top half of the sixth inning was played.
However, you shall never, ever count the Braves out.
Ronald Acuna Jr. scored after a Trea Turner error in the bottom of the sixth; and Travis d’Arnaud put the game at 4-3 with a two-run shot in the bottom of the seventh.
The Braves were already just one run behind on the scoreboard.
In the bottom of the eighth, it was Austin Riley’s turn to hit a key two-run homer, this time to put the Braves ahead.
In the top of the ninth, Bryce Harper walked and then J.T. Realmuto flied out.
With a runner on first and one out, we saw one of the most thrilling plays in recent postseason history.
Nick Castellanos hit a long drive to center field that looked like a double off the bat, but Michael Harris II leaped and made the amazing grab.
While this happened, Harper was already rounding second, but quickly tried to return to first once he saw Harris making the play.

Harris threw the ball to the infield, where Riley picked it up to make a lightning-quick throw to first base and double off Harper to end the game.
The call was also majestic.
As MLB states, it was the first 8-5-3 double play in postseason history.
The @Braves turn the first-ever 8-5-3 double play in the #Postseason … and it ends the game!

The Braves are far from dead, and the series is now a best-of-three affair.
It doesn’t get any better than this.
