The Milwaukee Brewers have made some moves this offseason.
They recently signed first baseman Rhys Hoskins and utilityman Christian Arroyo.
However, the most important transaction the franchise made was extending uber-prospect Jackson Chourio.
Milwaukee and Chourio, who hasn’t made his MLB debut yet, agreed to an eight-year, $82 million contract with club options for 2032 and 2033.
Brewers ace Freddy Peralta, one of the best and most consistent pitchers on the staff, offered some advice to Chourio and how he should handle himself under the bright lights of MLB.
“Keep being humble, and keep trying (to be the best),” he stated.
“Be yourself every day, work, respect your teammates, try to help somebody every day. Enjoy the moment,” Peralta told “Foul Territory.”

The hurler, who has been in the league for several years now, spoke about the importance of surrounding Chourio with good people who make sound decisions.
“Hopefully, he doesn’t change. This is a great clubhouse for rookies, because there are good people. He is going to be around people like Willy (Adames) and Christian (Yelich) to give him some advice if needed,” Peralta said.
Chourio is one of the most exciting prospects in the game.
In 2023, he slashed .280/.336/.467 with 22 home runs and 43 stolen bases in Double-A, then had a short, but successful six-game stint in Triple-A.
Ideally, he could benefit from some more Triple-A time, but he is so talented that he could show he is ready in spring training.
The Brewers’ plan is to have him manning center field on Opening Day.
It’s a strong possibility.
