The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the steadiest organizations of the last six years in MLB.
While continually running low payrolls, they have made five of the last six postseasons.
Now that they have lost advisor David Stearns and manager Craig Counsell, you could say a new era is starting in Milwaukee.
Their losses don’t mean that there are no smart people left in the Brewers’ front office, though.
The Brewers recently secured the signing of a solid slugger for the middle of their lineup: Rhys Hoskins.
Now, on Thursday, they announced a solid utilityman.
“Christian Arroyo to Brewers. Minors deal. $1.5M if in majors plus incentives. @AdamMcCalvy @ByRobertMurray on it,” MLB insider Jon Heyman tweeted.

Arroyo is a strange case.
He is probably not good enough to be a 162-game starter at second base or any of the infield spots.
However, he is probably better than your average backup, being able to play shortstop, first, second, and third base while also being capable of playing in the outfield corners.
He has had solid seasons, and his career .252/.299/.394 line is actually not that bad.
With Willy Adames firmly entrenched as the shortstop and Hoskins manning first base, Arroyo could see semi-regular playing time at second and third, where Bryce Turang and Andrew Monasterio (respectively) are the presumed starters.
If he performs well offensively, he could earn about 400 plate appearances.
It will likely depend on him and probably on what other moves the Brewers make from here to the start of spring training.
