Drake Maye is the quarterback of the future in New England.
He was selected with the No. 3 overall pick in this past NFL Draft.
Along with head coach Jerod Mayo, Maye will help the Pats enter into a new era of football.
Former Patriots quarterback and Super Bowl champion Brian Hoyer recently appeared on Tom Curran’s “Patriots Talk Podcast” to chat about what Maye needs to do as a rookie, via NBC Sports Boston.
“You have to ignore what the media is saying…Just stack days together…I don’t think he should just say ‘this is going to be a redshirt year’…You better learn from the guy ahead of you,” Hoyer said.

Hoyer also recounted his time in Las Vegas as a backup quarterback saying that Aidan O’Connell, who was a rookie at the time, ended up getting the most playing time with Hoyer and former Patriot Jimmy Garoppolo in the building.
Maye just needs to properly prepare and grow as a younger player before he needs to worry about anything else.
There is no doubt that he has all the intangibles and abilities of a great quarterback.
He brings size (6-4, 225 pounds) and athleticism.
The former ACC Player of the Year certainly helped make North Carolina a contender again in the ACC under current head coach Mack Brown.
Like most rookies, he will have some areas that he will need to work on as a rookie.
But with the help of veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who will most likely start at the beginning of the season, look for Maye to be the next star in New England for years to come.
