After losing five of their first six games, all of a sudden, the Denver Broncos have finally been showing signs of life.
They defeated the Minnesota Vikings, who had been on a five-game winning streak, on Sunday, 21-20, on a touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Courtland Sutton with just over a minute left.
Even though Denver has been weak on defense all season long, they finally found something positive on that end of the field lately, as they have held their opponent to 20 points or fewer in four of their last five games.
They have managed to do so even though starting safety Kareem Jackson missed two of those games after being suspended following a violation of the NFL’s unnecessary roughness rules when he hit Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave.
On Sunday, Jackson made illegal contact with Minnesota quarterback Josh Dobbs, and as a result, he has now been suspended for four more games, per Ian Rapoport.

For Jackson, this has been a season defined by discipline handed down by the league.
He has been fined four times for illegal hits or unnecessary roughness violations, and one of those illegal hits resulted in him getting ejected in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders.
When he has been on the field, the veteran defensive back has turned in three passes defended, two interceptions, and 51 tackles (36 solo).
The Broncos are just one game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers for the final playoff spot in the AFC right now, and with a relatively manageable schedule remaining, perhaps they can claw their way into the postseason.
