The Denver Broncos have already made several in-season moves, a sign they may be throwing in the towel.
They recently traded away Randy Gregory to the San Francisco 49ers and restructured Frank Clark’s contract.
Many speculated that this move for Clark was the precursor to his release.
Less than a week after his restructure, this move came to fruition, as reported by Ian Rapoport.
The Broncos are officially parting ways with Clark, who is now a free agent.
The #Broncos are releasing veteran pass-rusher Frank Clark, sources say, unable to find a trade partner that all sides are comfortable with. He’ll now be a free agent after playing in just two games for Denver. pic.twitter.com/Bg7HWHmucE

As Rapoport mentioned, despite initial optimism about Clark’s role on the team, he only ended up playing in two games for the Broncos.
The Clark saga is another page in the Broncos’ disastrous defensive season, a unit that was expected to be one of the best in the league.
However, through six games, the Broncos defense has allowed the most points per game on the year.
Sean Payton has been unable to right the ship thus far, and the Broncos now sit with a record of 1-5.
Will the Broncos trade away any other pieces before the season is over?
They do have several players who could be useful for a contending team, and it appears that they are in the market to sell.
If the Broncos make any moves, they’ll likely ask for draft compensation in return, given their lack of picks in upcoming drafts.
When looking ahead to 2024, the Broncos have just six picks, including their own first-rounder.
Their first-round pick is looking especially valuable at the moment if they stay on their current trajectory.
