The Cleveland Browns headed into the 2023 NFL regular season with high hopes of being a legitimate Super Bowl title contender in the AFC, as the team was finally going to be able to see what they would be getting in star quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Unfortunately, after playing in only six games in his first season in Cleveland, Watson followed it up with only six games during the 2023 campaign, which was disappointing, to say the least.
As if that wasn’t disappointing enough, with Watson going down with a season-ending injury after playing in only six games, star running back Nick Chubb only played in two games before suffering a season-ending injury.
These two injuries seemed to end any hope of the Browns being able to compete in the AFC, as they lost their two best players on offense, but Cleveland proved resilient, with Kevin Stefanski doing a masterful job of coaching, which has now seemingly earned him and general manager Andrew Berry contract extensions, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Stefanski’s job with the Browns this past season earned him NFL Coach of the Year honors, as well as this incoming contract extension.
It’ll be interesting to see how long the Browns want to commit to Stefanski after what he was able to accomplish during the 2023 campaign, as he has proven his worth and seems to be the right man for the job in Cleveland moving forward.
However, there’s no telling what the future holds for the Browns, with Watson being a disappointment thus far and Chubb’s injury being as severe as it was.
