The city of Philadelphia is dealing with the losses of Eagles legends Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox this offseason, who both retired following a historic run as the anchors on each side of the ball for over a decade.
Luckily for Philly fans, they got to see both on Saturday at the Phillies game, as the pair threw out the first pitch to kick off a brutal 12-4 loss to the Atlanta Braves.
Phillies 2-time MVP Bryce Harper had the honor of catching the first pitch from Kelce, and after catching the ball he asked Kelce to sign his cleats in a heartwarming moment for Philly fans.

You don’t often see this happen after a first pitch, especially with a player as notable as Bryce Harper, but Kelce is such a legend in the city you can’t blame Harper for turning into a fanboy for a few moments and getting his cleats signed.
Perhaps Harper was just trying to get a little bit of Kelce’s championship pedigree to rub off on him, as the Phillies haven’t been able to get over the hump since 2008 and Harper’s 2022 team fell just short, succumbing to the Houston Astros in six games.
The most commendable part of this clip is that Kelce and Cox did not bounce or airmail their first pitches, which is the number one rule when throwing out the first pitch.
There is no way Harper would have asked for an autograph if Kelce bombed it to the backstop like Conor McGregor did.
