The Carolina Panthers are the only winless team in the NFL after six weeks.
They got off to their best start to a game this season, taking a 14-0 lead on the road against the Miami Dolphins.
Unfortunately for Frank Reich’s team, they were unable to keep their foot on the gas and fell flat from there.
The offense failed to score another point for the remainder of the game, with their other touchdown coming from a pick-six on backup QB Mike White late in the game.
Following the loss, reigning No. 1 pick Bryce Young voiced his frustration over this slow start to the season, but he also showed his confidence in his team’s ability to build from this and get better, via ProFootballTalk.
“It’s tough,” Young said, via the team’s website. “I love this team, believe in this team; I’m blessed and happy to be a part of this team. And obviously, it’s not where we want to be, hasn’t been what we wanted. It’s tough, but we’ve got to keep building, keep growing, trying to find things to continue to improve on, things that we’ve had. We’ve got to expand on it. We’ve got to keep building on the positives, and then, obviously, a lot to clean up.”

Needless to say, Young was never used to playing losing football, and it’s not easy to deal with something like this.
Even so, he has been far from impressive through the first six weeks of his professional career, and there were reports about the team “dumbing down” the playbook to help him out.
He did look more comfortable with this simplified version of the playbook early in the game, but he was unable to keep that up.
Young completed 23 of 38 passes for 217 yards and one touchdown, taking his season tally to just seven scores.
The Panthers’ next chance to get their first win of the season will come after their bye week.
Notably, it’ll also be the first time that Young goes against No. 2 pick C.J. Stroud in the NFL.
