The Carolina Panthers took a big leap of faith with Bryce Young.
There was plenty to love about his tape and resume, but his small frame and lack of size were major concerns as he entered the league.
Of course, with him dominating the SEC, which is the conference that provides the most NFL talent, some thought those concerns were overblown.
His first season in the league proved the doubters right, at least for now.
He struggled to find his footing, and while he wasn’t put in a position to succeed, he didn’t look ready to make an impact.
Nonetheless, he hasn’t let any of the outside noise get to him.
Talking on The Pivot, he stated that he’s a self-motivated guy, so he doesn’t take much from his fans as much as he doesn’t take much from his haters.
“For me, I’m someone who’s internally motivated and it’s about controlling what you can control.” Bryce Young #mondaymotivation

Whether the talk is good or bad, he’s only looking to be the best version of himself and get better every single day, so he’s always going to be unbothered by hearsay or pundits.
The Panthers have Dave Canales to bring the best out of him.
It’s never wise or accurate to count out a rookie quarterback after a bad season, and the team has to be patient with him and make sure to put him in the best situation possible.
Still, even if he’s self-motivated, he’s got to play with a big chip on his shoulder and a determination to bounce back and prove that he belongs in this league.
