The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a decision to make in free agency.
Veteran LB Lavonte David isn’t exactly getting any younger, and not many teams would look to lock up a 34-year-old defender with so much mileage on his legs for the long run.
Nonetheless, he believes he’s still got a lot left in the tank.
Talking on Good Morning Football, the veteran linebacker claimed that he’s not thinking about retirement, and he’s only looking forward to getting back on the field again.
“I’m ready to play. I still feel like I got a lot left in me,” David said.

The Bucs now have over $40 million in cap space because of the $30 million increase to the salary cap.
Nonetheless, David might not be at the top of their priority list in free agency right now, as they still need to reach an agreement with star WR Mike Evans, QB Baker Mayfield, and S Antoine Winfield Jr.
Even so, David hasn’t slowed down a single bit despite his age.
He’s coming off his 12th season, but he was still able to force one fumble and logged 4.5 sacks, 134 tackles, and 17 tackles for loss, which were his best numbers in seven years.
David was instrumental in helping Todd Bowles’ team win the NFC South title, outplaying his one-year contract worth just $7 million.
The Bucs also need to come to terms with Devin White, who’s going to test free agency as well and also wants to come back to Raymond James Stadium next season.
Whether they’ll be able to keep the band together remains to be seen.
