The National Football League is a quarterback’s league.
The way the game is played and officiated right now has made it that way, and it’ll be like that until further notice.
With that in mind, teams need to go the extra mile to make sure they have an elite gunslinger out there first and foremost.
Notably, the Houston Texans may have done it already, as CJ Stroud looks like the real deal.
Recently, Stroud was asked about the guys who inspired him, and he referred to three young guys who have helped him mold his game.
Talking on the Pivot podcast, he stated that he’s always looked up to Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, and Joe Burrow.
“I’ve always looked up to Mahomes and Burrow and Jalen Hurts and all those guys but I’m not them, I can never be them and I don’t want to be them, so I asked what is going to make me be the best?” Stroud said.

Nonetheless, he added that he’s not like them, nor is he looking to be like them.
Stroud had arguably the single-greatest campaign for a rookie quarterback this game has ever seen.
If it wasn’t for his injury, he would’ve broken all the marks for a rookie quarterback.
With him and DeMeco Ryans, the Texans went from winning three games last season to making it all the way to the playoffs this year.
They even went toe-to-toe on the road with the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Divisional Round in the first half before Lamar Jackson took over in the final two quarters of the contest.
The future seems bright for this organization, and while it’s still quite early in his career, he might be the best quarterback in his division already.
