The Houston Texans have found a star player, which isn’t an easy thing to do, not even with the No. 2 pick.
But more than that, they also found a true leader, which is even harder to find.
C.J. Stroud has risen to the occasion, earning the trust of his teammates and letting them know that he’s going to give it his all on the field week in and week out, shutting down all the outside noise and leading by example.
The Ohio State product recently appeared on Tom Brady’s ‘Let’s Go!’ podcast, and he talked about the offseason lunch he had with Brady and the rest of the rookie QB class.
When asked about what he got from that meeting, Stroud stated that it was kind of a ‘cheat code’ in the sense that he got a better understanding of what it meant to be a real man and a professional, knowing that a lot of people counted on him as soon as he stepped into the locker room, even if he was just a rookie (via Dov Kleiman).

Stroud has been the most remarkable rookie this season, and it hasn’t even been close.
He’s playing like one of the best quarterbacks in the game already, even going toe-to-toe with Joe Burrow and beating him on the road.
The Texans are still in the mix for a playoff berth, which sounded crazy at the beginning of the season, and a lot of that has to do with their young gunslinger.
