The Washington Commanders recently made a move to sign Kliff Kingsbury as their offensive coordinator.
Kingsbury’s career in the NFL has been up and down, as his most recent role was as the head coach for the Arizona Cardinals.
Despite having what was viewed as a talented young team, Kingsbury was unable to help this team string together wins, a major reason he was let go.
He then joined USC as an offensive analyst, a chance for him to go back to the collegiate realm, get his confidence back up, and hopefully come back to the NFL.
It didn’t take long for a team to snatch him up.
Many fans and players have reacted to Kingsbury joining the Commanders, but no reaction was discussed more than Caleb Williams.
As Williams indicated on Instagram, he was excited for Kingsbury to join the team, saying, “My dawg congrats.”

While this could mean a myriad of things, many fans believe this is an indication that the Commanders will trade up for the No. 1 overall pick, drafting Williams.
Williams is viewed, in many people’s eyes, as a generational quarterback.
It has been reported, though unconfirmed, that Williams may not prefer to play for the Chicago Bears, who currently have the first pick via the Carolina Panthers.
If they are okay with moving forward with Justin Fields at their quarterback, or see value from another first-round draft pick, they just might trade their pick to the Commanders.
Add in the USC ties between Kingsbury and Williams, and this might just be a theory that pans out in the long run.
