The Arizona Cardinals will have a decision to make about quarterback Kyler Murray very soon.
While Murray has looked good at times in his career, the team could have the opportunity to draft a rookie this spring.
Not only do the Cardinals own their first-round pick – which will likely fall into the top five – but Arizona also has the Houston Texans’ first-round pick.
Murray could fetch a nice price on the trade market as well, should a team want to invest in a proven player rather than draft an unknown commodity.
However, it doesn’t sound as though the Cardinals are ready to move on from Murray.
“We feel really good where Kyler’s at as a franchise quarterback,” Petzing said on The Adam Schefter Podcast. “He’s done a great job embracing that role and owning that role.”
Amongst his many thoughts and ideas, Cardinals’ OC Drew Petzing believes Kyler Murray is Arizona’s franchise quarterback.

Murray missed the first 10 games of the season while recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in 2022 and has looked solid under center.
The fifth-year quarterback has completed 60.8 percent of his passes for 864 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.
He’s also rushed 23 times for 106 yards and three touchdowns.
But Murray’s inconsistent play at times has been to the Cardinals’ detriment.
During his Pro Bowl year in 2021, Murray failed to capitalize on a 7-0 start to the season and lost four of the Cardinals’ final five games of the year.
Arizona still made the playoffs, though, and Murray still got a five-year, $230.5 million contract the following offseason.
The Cardinals are under a new regime in head coach Jonathan Gannon and general manager Monti Ossenfort, though, two men who didn’t draft Murray.
But maybe change in the quarterback room won’t happen after all.
