Over the past couple of years, there has been plenty of speculation regarding Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals.
The former No. 1 pick has been the target of criticism for quite a while now, including reports of a ‘homework’ clause in his contract that ‘forced’ him to watch film throughout the course of the week.
Even some current and former teammates have criticized him for an apparent lack of leadership and maturity.
Also, with him set to miss most of last season with an injury, some expected the Cardinals to tank to try and get Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick.
Fast forward to today, and that’s not going to be the case.
More than that, the Cardinals won’t be taking a quarterback with the No. 4 pick, at least judging by their latest post on social media.
The Cardinals posted a pic of Kyler Murray with the caption “Our franchise QB,” seemingly putting an end to all speculation about his future.

Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time that we see a team say something like this and then pivot, and the Cardinals did it with his predecessor, Josh Rosen.
Even so, it doesn’t seem like they’re moving on from their dual-threat QB.
Perhaps someone could look to make a big offer for his services and make them reconsider their stance on him, but that doesn’t seem likely at this point.
Unfortunately, they’re still several pieces away from being a legitimate Super Bowl contender, especially in that division.
