The Kansas City Chiefs have the best quarterback in the game.
Patrick Mahomes is the alpha dog in the league right now.
That’s why whoever is backing him up must be aware of the fact that their chances of suiting up and actually playing are quite slim.
Nonetheless, Carson Wentz is just happy about getting another opportunity to stay in the league.
When asked about his aspirations, the former MVP candidate claimed that all he wanted to do was help his team be in the best possible position, whether it came on or off the field:
Wentz was one of the best quarterbacks in the game for a brief period of time.
Then, an injury and some erratic decision-making made most teams in the league turn their back on him, up to the point where he was even out of a job.
Needless to say, he still made plenty of money during his playing days, so it’s not like he’s struggling to make ends meet or actually needs the job.
He’s out there just because of the love of the game, and that’s something you just have to respect.
It’s not easy for former starters to take a look in the mirror and deal with the fact that they may not have it anymore, especially if their success was so short-lived.
Still, everybody on a team contributes to their end game, even if they don’t get to be out there on Sundays.
