The Cincinnati Bengals are in a tough spot with Tee Higgins.
As much as they would love to keep their talented wide receiver for the foreseeable future, his financial situation might make it impossible.
According to most reports, Higgins is looking to get close to $25 million a year.
The Bengals, however, haven’t even been close to meeting those demands, which is why contract extension talks have reportedly stalled for months now.
Nonetheless, as much as Higgins reportedly would rather be traded than play under the franchise tag, former Bengals star Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson is confident in their ability to get the job done.
According to TMZ, the retired wide receiver has been in constant talks with Higgins about this situation, stating that it was just business and that the Bengals should be able to strike a deal with him soon.

Higgins has made it loud and clear that he wants to stay with the Bengals for years to come.
He’s good enough to be a WR1 somewhere else, which is something that’s just not going to happen for as long as he’s on the field with Ja’Marr Chase.
The Bengals are going to pay him roughly $21 million next season if he plays under the franchise tag, but he’d become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the campaign.
That’s why it also makes sense for the Bengals to either make sure he signs an extension or trade him now that they can still get something in return for his services.
