The 2023 Denver Broncos have gotten off to a very complicated start to the season.
They couldn’t get the job done vs. the Las Vegas Raiders in the opener, then blew a huge lead vs. the Washington Commanders in Week 2.
Now, they made negative history by being on the wrong end of one of the biggest blowouts this game has ever seen.
The Miami Dolphins put up the most all-purpose yards in a single game and the second-most points in a single game on Sunday, dominating them en route to a 70-20 win.
That’s why former star WR Chad Johnson wanted to clear the air and let it be known that it’s actually harder to put up 70 points in Madden than it was for the Dolphins to score 70 on the Broncos (via Club Shay Shay).

Johnson called himself as gamer and admitted to being an avid Madden fan, so he knows what he’s talking about.
He said the only way you put up 70 in Madden is by playing on rookie mode or against a five year old, which is why Shannon Sharpe doubled down on that take and stated that the Broncos were, in fact, on rookie mode.
It’s hard to come back from something like this, even for a veteran and well-respected coach like Sean Payton.
He did a lot of talking about setting standards and developing a winning culture, and we haven’t seen anything of that so far.
The Broncos will get a chance to get their first win of the season when they face Justin Fields and the 0-3 Chicago Bears in a game that won’t drive too many viewers.
