After another disappointing end to a season on the horizon, the Los Angeles Chargers decided to part ways with head coach Brandon Staley midway through December, which created one of the most desirable head coaching jobs in the NFL.
Even though the Chargers have been a disappointing team for the last few seasons, the roster is one of the most talented in the league, highlighted by superstar quarterback Justin Herbert, which will almost certainly attract a lot of attention during the NFL offseason.
Along with the team expected to interview several outside candidates for this job opening, the team is going internally to start the interview process, with the team completing an interview with offensive coordinator Kellen Moore on Tuesday, according to the team’s Twitter account.

Moore became a hot commodity in the NFL after making a name for himself while he was the offensive coordinator with the Dallas Cowboys.
The expectation was that Moore would land a head coaching job in the league after what he had accomplished with the Cowboys, but he chose to join Staley’s coaching staff instead and now could be on the verge of getting the top job in Los Angeles.
However, Moore will have a lot of competition for the head coaching job in Los Angeles, with big-name candidates like Jim Harbaugh from the University of Michigan and New England Patriots legendary head coach Bill Belichick.
It’ll be interesting to see if Moore ultimately lands the job or if the Chargers try to make a big splash by hiring Harbaugh or another big-name head coach that might be available.
