The Los Angeles Chargers made a breakthrough after winning Week 3 of the 2023 NFL season.
It was their first victory this year after losing their first two matches by a combined margin of five points.
Their Week 3 win against the Minnesota Vikings could start an upward trend.
However, it appears that they will play in Week 4 without three key players while facing the Las Vegas Raiders.
“So it looks like no Austin Ekeler, no Derwin James, and no Joey Bosa. Chargers are on a bye next week,” ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted after sharing that Bosa was downgraded to doubtful.

Ekeler, James, and Bosa will essentially have two weeks of rest, given that they’ll have their bye next week.
Those three players are significant contributors to their success in recent years.
Bosa will be out of action due to a hamstring/toe injury.
He did not participate in any of the team’s practices this week.
It’s an unfortunate development, considering he played only five regular season games last season due to a groin injury.
Meanwhile, Ekeler won’t play in Week 4 because of an ankle injury.
He hasn’t played after the Chargers’ Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Finally, Derwin James is out due to a hamstring issue.
Like Bosa, he did not participate in this week’s practices.
Week 4 against the Raiders will be the first game James will miss this season.
He’s had 18 solo tackles and two passes defended through three games.
