The Los Angeles Chargers got a full organizational makeover in the offseason as they got rid of multiple high-priced veterans and brought in former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh.
The Chargers released key pieces like Austin Ekeler and Mike Williams, while also trading away Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears.
Quarterback Justin Herbert will enter the 2024 NFL season with a new cast of weapons, though the team is far from done adding to his arsenal.
Los Angeles is armed with the fifth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and could go a number of directions with the pick.
Under Harbaugh, the most likely scenario is they build along the offensive line, though a receiver would make a lot of sense given the lack of talent and depth in the room.
As far as Herbert’s backup goes, the Chargers decided to bring back Easton Stick on a one-year deal, via Adam Schefter of ESPN.
“Chargers have re-signed quarterback Easton Stick, who spent the past five seasons with them,” Schefter reported.

Stick has been the backup since Los Angeles drafted him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Stick got his first opportunity this past season when Herbert underwent season-ending surgery on his broken index finger.
The signal-caller had some flashes throwing the football, but ultimately struggled to keep the offense on schedule.
However, there’s value in retaining a backup like Stick given his familiarity with the roster and organization.
He likely won’t see the field unless Herbert suffers another injury, but he’s a solid depth piece.
