Earlier this year, the Los Angeles Chargers decided to hire Jim Harbaugh as the team’s new head coach, and since then, the franchise has dealt with some significant changes.
Justin Herbert still remains intact as the Chargers’ starting quarterback, but a number of his offensive weapons, like Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams, have all parted with the team during the last few weeks.
Big changes are happening for Los Angeles during their first offseason with Harbaugh leading the way and in addition to notable moves being made on the offensive side of the ball, the team is also making some adjustments to help improve what was a disappointing defense in 2023.
On Friday, the Chargers and free-agent cornerback Kristian Fulton reportedly agreed to a one-year contract, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport on Twitter.

After Los Angeles ranked 30th in passing yards allowed per game last season, just about anything should help the team’s secondary make some improvements during the 2024 campaign.
In Fulton, the Chargers are adding a solid young cornerback to their roster (only 25) who spent the last three seasons as a starter with the Tennessee Titans.
That being said, Los Angeles’s newest addition to their cornerback room still has plenty to improve when it comes to his on-field performance.
With the Titans last season, Fulton only allowed one touchdown catch to his coverage in 12 games, however, he also allowed his coverage to haul in 75.5 percent of their targets, and opposing quarterbacks had a 114.1 passer rating when throwing in his direction.
If he’s going to become part of the Chargers’ turnaround in 2024, these numbers absolutely must improve.
