Week 13 featured a matchup between two of the most underwhelming teams in the NFL as the Los Angeles Chargers traveled east to take on the New England Patriots.
The Chargers are in line for some massive changes in the offseason after another disappointing year under head coach Brandon Staley, but the Patriots could see an even bigger overhaul after a dismal 2023 NFL campaign.
Both offenses have failed to live up to their preseason expectations, and the game went about as poorly as fans expected as neither team was able to get much going offensively.
Los Angeles wound up kicking just two field goals during the afternoon, though that somehow was enough to pick up the win.
New England trotted out backup quarterback Bailey Zappe hoping for some sort of spark, but he was unable to find any rhythm throwing the football.
With the Chargers beating the Patriots 6-0, it marked a historic scoring game via Mitch Goldich of Sports Illustrated.
It was only the 18th game with 6 total points or fewer in the last 50 years.
Chargers 6, Patriots 0 is the lowest-scoring NFL game since the Jaguars beat the Colts 6-0 in 2018.

The offensive ineptitude between the Chargers and Patriots was almost impressive considering how many possessions they had, but it was a tough watch for fans of either squad.
Justin Herbert threw for 212 yards, with Keenan Allen pacing the Los Angeles receiver room with 58 yards.
On the other side, Zappe had 141 passing yards but was sacked five times on the afternoon.
The New England running backs didn’t help much as both Ezekiel Elliott and Rhamondre Stevenson lost fumbles that killed any hope of a scoring drive.
The Chargers will happily take wins how they can get them, but it didn’t inspire much confidence for the stretch run.
