With the Kansas City Chiefs winning their second consecutive Super Bowl, the team’s goal during the NFL offseason will be keeping their roster relatively intact while adding some other pieces to the championship puzzle in an effort to pull off the three-peat.
One of the more important pieces to that puzzle is on the defensive side of the football in cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, who will be looking for a long-term deal with the team this offseason.
Apparently, the Chiefs may look to use their franchise tag on Sneed, but if the team and the star corner can’t get a deal done, a trade might be in the works, with plenty of interested parties expected on the trade market.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the plan is to look to trade Sneed if they cannot see eye-to-eye on a long-term deal, via Ari Meirov.

In 16 regular-season games with the Chiefs in 2023, Sneed recorded two interceptions along with a career-high 14 passes defensed, one fumble recovery, and 60 solo tackles.
Losing Sneed would be a costly blow to the Chiefs’ secondary, so the team will almost certainly try to get a deal done, with star defensive tackle Chris Jones also looking to cash in once again now that he will be a free agent again.
Needless to say, the Chiefs have their work cut out for them this offseason in order to get this team back on the field next season while hopefully making upgrades on both sides of the football.
